But Zuckerberg believes he has a solution for this pesky problem. On Thursday, he announced that Internet.org, an organisation that Facebook started in partnership with a few other technology companies, is experimenting with drones that are capable of beaming internet in an area from the sky. "In our effort to connect the whole world with Internet.org, we've been working on ways to beam internet to people from the sky," Zuckerberg wrote on Facebook. "Our team has many of the world's leading experts in aerospace and communications technology, including from NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab and Ames Research Center. Pairing cook meat in beer before grilling it can reduce the chances of getting cancer from eating barbecued food

A cold beer and a steak from the barbecue are often said to be a match made in heaven on a summer's day. However research has found that the pairing is also good for your health as marinating meat in beer before grilling it can reduce the chances of getting cancer from eating barbecued food. The process of cooking meat over hot coals is known to increase the production of potentially harmful chemicals called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are linked to colorectal cancer. However, according to research published by the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, soaking meat in a marinade of beer – particularly stout or black beer – reduces the creation of PAHs when it is grilled. High levels of the chemicals, which are also present in cigarette smoke and car exhaust, are associated with cancers in laboratory animals, and doctors have previously discovered a link between colorectal cancer among adults who eat a lot of g

Gavaskar would be made "interim working president" of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the court said, adding that the appointment would place him in overall charge of the upcoming edition of the annual Indian Premier League. An apex court bench headed by Justice AK Patnaik said Gavaskar would only be concerned with matters related to the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). All other BCCI duties will be handled by former test cricketer Shivlal Yadav, a senior vice president of the BCCI. The apex court also allowed Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, the two teams at the centre of investigations into illegal betting and spot-fixing, to play during IPL season 7 and the IPL matche

Motorola will launch new Moto X in India, available only on Flipkart

Image
Indian retailer Flipkart has snagged yet another exclusive deal with Motorola. The retailer tweeted saying the Moto X is coming soon, along with a map that shows India with a very obvious X in the middle. Flipkart will have exclusive rights to sell the Moto X in India, just like the Moto G. While Flipkart didn’t announce a launch date, it looks like more than just the black and white versions of the phone will be launched in India. Responding to a query about the wooden back Moto X, Flipkart said two such variants – teak and walnut – will be available.  The disappointing news is that Moto Maker tool will not be making an appearance in India. In any case, we should expect five colour options and the two wood variants at launch. The Moto X exclusive follows the highly successful launch campaign for the Moto G, which was Motorola’s best launch in any country. With stock running out within hours of the launch, it’s clear that there’s a great demand for Motorola’s new phones. A lot of t

Bharatratn Sachin Tendulkar emerges leading contender for cricketer of generation award

Image
Sachin Tendulkar is among the three greats to have emerged as the leading contenders for ESPNcricinfo’s Cricketer of the Generation award; even as the Indian’s long-time fierce rival from the West Indies Brian Lara missed out on a place in the final three. Australian spin legend Shane Warne and the recently-retired South African great Jacques Kallis are the other two cricketers to feature in the final list. The award, to be presented in Mumbai on Friday, will honour the most outstanding cricketer between the years 1993 and 2013. The occasion will also mark the 20th anniversary celebrations for the cricket website. While Tendulkar has been the most successful batsman of his generation, having set innumerable records in both Tests and ODIs, no other bowler mesmerised world cricket the way Warne did, besides playing a role in reviving the art of leg spin bowling. As far as all-rounder are concerned, Kallis, for his exploits over the past two decades, often drew c
